Adventure Week...so far

Yesterday was a great day and today was fun and interesting. We started with eating a nice breakfast before heading to the canyon. When we got to the canyon we had a great view on the bus riding to the Visitor's Center. When we started the hike, we weren't sure what we were in for, but we were pleasantly surprised. On the first hike, we saw the CCC bridges that were explained to us by our tour guide, Bernice. We started at the rim and there were many times when we were literally on the edge of the canyon. The lunch at the trading post was awesome and we were ready to go on our next hike. The afternoon hike was definitely longer than the first, but there was so much more to see. The scariest part was when we had to climb up to the lighthouse. The view was great, but it was really high up and scary. It was hard to get down the steep and rocky trail. The dirt felt like kitty litter as it was giving way under our feet. Even though it was challenging, we all felt a sense of accomplishment after the hike. We went back to the hotel to freshen up before we went to the Big Texan Steak Ranch. We were served excellent steak and chicken and in Evangeline's case, a great vegetarian plate. There wasn't anyone trying to eat the 72 ounce steak though. The brownie was rock hard, but chewy on the inside. After dinner, we explored the rest of the Big Texan. Bailey and Katie bought fudge and shared it with Evangeline. Mandy bought a huge pencil and a marshmallow pop and Evangeline bought a bracelet. The other part had shooting games and changing haunted pictures, which were very creepy. Now we're blogging and will be going to sleep looking forward to another great day.
