Splendid Second Day Experience

Today was the second day of our Adventure week. We woke up early in the morning so we could go to breakfast at 8:15. After breakfast we gathered in the lobby so we could take the bus to the trails. First we went on a small trail that was only 2 miles. It was very jagged at some times, but it payed off with the pictures and scenic view. We saw beautiful formation called Spanish Skirts. They had layers of many vibrant colors like red, white, violet, and yellow. The second hike took 2.5 hours. The trail was called the lighthouse trail. The trail was mostly flat or hilly, and other times it was rocky and steep. The trail was a little over 6 miles to and from the formation. After walking for a long time everyone's feet were very sore but it was worth the view when we got to the formation. It was very tall and you had to jump from rock to rock and climb up a steep hill to get to the top. Most of the people were brave and went up the slippery hill to the top of the formation. At the very end of our day we went to the Big Texas Steak House. As we ate our food, some contestants ate the free 72 oz.  steak began the challenge. After we ate our meals, we were given five dollars to go to the gift store and arcade to play games and get souvenirs. It was the end to a very long day but it was very rewarding and a great experience for all of us.
